Abstract:The Tanjianshan gold deposit is located in the central and west part of the northern margin of Qaidam basin. Most gold ore-bodies are controlled by structural activity and magmatic intrusion and occur in carbonic phyllite and schist of Wandongou Formation, which is characterized by relatively low and rather constant Au content (X Au= 1.04×10-9 and VAu= 1.76 in the upperpart; XAu= 1.0×10-9 and VAu= 1.75 in the lower part). The plagioclase gram to phyre has comparatively high Au (2.54×10-9 on average) and As (9.65×10-6 on average), being probably the source of gold. The correlation of ore-forming elements of the deposit also implies that most gold cam e from magma. S table isotope constituents of the deposit indicate that sulfur (δ34S= 3‰ ~ 10‰), carbon (δ13CPDB=-12. 9‰ ~ 3.2‰), lead and water of ore-forming fluids were also mostly derived from magma. Besides carbonic phyllite and schist, the host rocks of the deposit are mostly Hercynian intermediate-acid dykes together with a few basic dykes. Plagioclase granitophyre of the Tanjianshan gold deposit has K-Ar ages of 209. 4×l06 ~ 309.87×l06 a, and a Rb-Sr age of 330.03×l06 a. The phyllic diorite has a K-Ar age of 294.29×l06 a, while the altered gramtophyre gold ore has a K-Ar age of 268. 94×l06 a. It is deduced that alteration took place earlier than mineralization in the Tanjianshan gold deposit, and ore-bodies were formed in Late Hercynian period. The Tanjianshan gold deposit is of the mesotherm al altered rock type. |
