Abstract:There occur abundant quartz vein type gold deposits in epimetamorphic rocks of Proterozoic Banxi Group extensively exposed in the border area between western Hunan and eastern Gulzhou. The Mobin gold deposit is a medium size sulfides-poor and gold-bearing quartz vein deposit which is quite typical in this area. The authors have made ralher detailed investigation into the most typical gold-bearing quartz vein in the Mobin gold ore district-No.Ⅱlow vein in the aspects of minerai inclusions and stable isotopes, which yields some conclusions; 1.The ore deposit is somewhat of typical epithermal filling type one with ore-forming temperature in the range of 120一220℃. 2.Metallogenesis is strictly controlled by fractures, and the intersections of these fractures seem to be closelly related to rich orebodies: near them, mineralization is strong and ore is relatively rich; farther away, things are just the opposite. The regular spatial vaa-iations in temperature, salinity, density, composition, δ34S andδD values of inclusions suggest that the ore deposits were formed as a result of the migration of ore fluids along the fracture and the infilling of these fluids into the secondary order interformational fracture zones. 3.The ore-forming fluids might have been a kind of mixed solution of metamorphic water with some underground hot waterj the ore-forming element gold and other related elements came partly from wall rocks and partly from underlying strata. The authors consider that blind gold-bearing quartz ore deposits might exist at the southwestern end of the present mining area, especially at the depth of the intersection between F1 and F2, which is therefore a favorable position in search for rich ores in ore district. In ore prospecting on the outskirts of the ore district, attention should be paid to NWW-, NW-and NE-trending fracturezones, especially to the secondary order fractures ilear the intersection or the compounding position of two fracture zones. |
