Abstract:According to their ore_controlling characteristics, the orefield structures in t he Tongling ore concentration area have been classified into three types, namely the “row_line_cluster" pattern, the contact structural system of magmatic intr usion and the “depression above swell" structure. They occur respectively as ep izone, mesozone and hypozone in space, thus forming vertical zoning of the ore_c ontrolling orefield structures. Based on thickness of the covering strata, the d epths of these ore_controlling structural zones are estimated to be about 0~1 k m, 1~3.0 km, and >3.0 km, respectively. The ore_controlling structural zones at three levels control respectively hydrothermal vein_type deposits, skarn_type d eposits and stratabound skarn_type deposits. The epizone, mesozone and hypozone may have different combination forms, i.e., these zones can occur individually o r in combinations. When three zones occur together in a compounding form, the in tegrated vertical zoning of the structures is formed. The mineralization charact eristics are always determined by the vertical orefield structural zoning, which seems to be the main cause responsible for the metallogenic series and multisto ry metallogeny.
